8.00-8.30 am:
Tour guide from AZ Local Trip picks up you and your group from your hotel or at the confirmed meeting point in Hanoi Old Quarter.

It takes an 2-hour drive to Ninh Binh, which is about 105km to the South of Hanoi.

On the road to Ninh Binh, you pass by a stop-over in Dong Van, Ha Nam Province for relaxation.

10.30 a.m:

You will arrive Hoa Lu. Our English speaking tour guide will show you to visit Hoa Lu. Hoa Lu was the capital of Vietnam between 10th and 11th century.

The area is one of ricefields broken by picturesque limestone mountains, the capital at Hoa Lu covered an area of 300 ha (3.0 km2), including both the Inner and Outer Citadels.

It included defensive earthen walls, palaces, temples and shrines, and was surrounded and protected by mountains of limestone.

Today, the ancient citadel no longer exists, and few vestiges of the 10th century remain. Visitors can see temples built in honor of the emperors Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Hanh, their
sons, and Queen Duong Van Nga.

You can get on the bus go to the local restaurant in Tam Coc for buffer lunch with Ninh Binh specialities like goat meat and burned rice

Going to Tam Coc wharf

1.30 p.m:

You get on a private sampan for enjoying rowing through three famous caves in Tam Coc (Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba).

They have a lot of beautiful Stalactites and stalactites with different calorful. After finish visiting Tam Coc.

You have an oppurtunity to ride bicycle around Tam Coc town and
Villages.

Hanoi Return

4:00 pm: Our driver will take you back to Hanoi .

Great tour with a local guide!

Great tour with a local guide! We did a day-tour from Hanoi to Hoa Lu and Tam Coc with AZ Local Trip Our guide came from this area so knew it intimately and proved to be a wonderful guide. While it is only superficially comparable to Ha Long Bay (same limestone cliffs) it deserves recognition in its own right. The scenery was great and our bike ride through the rice harvesting paddi's was epic. The boat trip of 90 minutes was amazing - our lady rower earned her tip. I was intrigued with their method of rowing. They only use their feet! My kids love the biking part and they insist going back to Tam Coc next year! Thank Jenny for supporting us!

Tour guide was pro active and energetic. The tour was comprehensive and covered many nice activities inclusive of a bicycle trekking at rural Tam Coc, beautiful scenary awaits. My wife and I totally enjoyed it!

Overall my family had a geat time during the trip

Overall my family had a geat time during the trip, the tour met our expectation. Anh (Lena) was a IT girl turned tour guide and was very passionate about her job. She is super friendly and always gave us good information about the places we were. We were a group of family with 3 adults (1 over 60 years old) and 2 children. We felt very safe during the whole tour and had a lot time for ourselves to enjoy and relax. Exactly as Lena said, the highlight of the whole tour was the boat trip in Tam Coc. All my family loved it including my children. We surely took a lot of gorgeous photos there. Thanks to Jenny the tour director for support us anytime we need. We also had a bonus free Hanoi Tour Guide for half day which was really great! Highly recommend this tour.

The weather was cloudy but this did not detract from the beauty of the river cutting through the limestone mountains.

The weather was cloudy but this did not detract from the beauty of the river cutting through the limestone mountains. This was a day trip including Hoa Lu (ancient capital of North Vietnam) and Tam Coc. Our rower on the river was fast (they all seemed to row with their feet). Loved the whole trip. Special thanks for Jenny who has given us useful advice during our trip.

It was well worth the day trip

There are a lot of tour companies offering the same itinerary and we really enjoyed our day with Dee. Hoa Lu Tam Coc was really beautiful and the temples were the oldest and best preserved we saw in Vietnam. It was well worth the day trip from Hanoi to go out to this area. If you're looking to go an do a boat trip in Tam Coc and see the temples I would highly recommend this local tour company. Our guide, Dee, made the day special and he really made a big effort for everyone to get the most out of the trip.
