Pick-up

Our English-speaking tour guide will meet you up at your hotel or at a meeting point at the confirmed time. We begin our street food tour here, we eat as we go.

Our guide will give you insights and details into the intricacies and traditions of Vietnamese food culture and historical backgrounds of popular northern dishes.

You can enjoy these local dishes below. Which ones to go for, it's all up to you!

Banh Cuon

The first dish we can try is Banh Cuon. Thin steamed rice flour pancakes filled with minced pork and cloud ear mushrooms are served with "nuoc cham", a fish-sauce-based dipping sauce, fried shallots and fresh herbs. What interesting is that normally, the cook will make the dish right in front of you, so you get a chance to observe how Banh Cuon are made while enjoying it.

While eating, our guide will teach you how to eat the food properly and tell you the story and some facts about the food itself and the food culture of Hanoi.

Bun Cha
Bun Cha

We continue our Hanoi street food walking tour by wandering around Hanoi Old Quarter. In the Old Quarter, you'll seek a chance to observe the local lifestyle while our guide explain to you about the culture and history of this 1000 year-old city.

Then, our destination in Hanoi Street Food Walking Tour is an outdoor barbeque stall. We’ll join with the locals around and enjoy the delicious Bun Cha - top favorite Vietnamese food of all time. Bun Cha, a perfect combination between grilled pork and rice vermicelli will satisfy any customer at first time.

Banh Xeo

This interesting food was named after its “sizzle” cooking sound when pouring into the hot oil.

Although not originated in Hanoi, this cake is a must-try. It is a yellow cake stuffed with many ingredients. Some common stuffings include pork, shrimp, diced green onion, mung bean, and bean sprouts.

Its harmony taste will make you never get enough of it!

Bun Rieu Cua

Bun Rieu Cua is a kind of vermicelli noodles soup with the main ingredient is crap. A bowl of Bun Rieu Cua is very colorful with the red color of crap, yellow color of onions and green color of vegetables which make it very eye-catching and tasty.

When eating, you have to put in some other sauces to make the dish more delicious. Our tour guide will, of course, teach you that.

Nem

Go with us to try Nem (or also called Spring rolls). This is a dish that can be served all year round, and present in almost every menu of Vietnamese restaurant abroad: A dish that is so famous that many locals of Vietnam assume it as their own specialty and give it their own name such as: “Nem Ran” by northerners and “Cha Gio” by southerners.

Pho

This must be a food that most tourists seem to have already heard about it before visiting Vietnam.

The steaming hot broth made from meat bones simmered for hours is severed with rice noodles (banh pho) and slices of tender juicy beef or chicken. A perfect bowl of Pho would be some green onions and herbs on top with 2-3 lime drops for a taste of harmony.

Not everyone knows where is the best place to eat Pho but don’t worry, we know that and we’ll lead you to enjoy the best Pho in Hanoi.

Banh Mi
Banh Mi

For snack lovers, Banh My Hanoi is a can't miss option during Hanoi Street Food Walking Tour. Banh My in the capital owns its special flavor with lots of green vegetables and pate- made of grinded pork, which makes you never forget since the first time to taste.

There're different kinds of Banh Mi for you to choose, depends on your choices.

Enjoy The Heaven Of Dessert In Hanoi

During Hanoi Street Food Walking Tour, you’ll be tasting one of the most popular and trending desserts of Vietnamese young people which is made from fruits. It’s a cup of fruit, smothered with crushed iced and condensed milk – this specialty is one not to be missed!

Vietnam is known as a tropical country with a heaven of fresh and nutritious fruits, thus, the dishes made of fruit are very popular in daily meals of Vietnamese people. Fruit with condensed milk is a wonderful dessert for tourists after a walking tour.

Sitting In A Coffee Shop To Observe The Surrounding View

After enjoying Banh My Hanoi, it sounds great when sitting in a chair and trying a cup of egg coffee. Vietnamese people, especially Hanoians, have created a brand new way to enjoy coffee, mixing the darkness of coffee with the fat flavor of eggs. This specialty allures thousands of foreign tourists all over the world every year.

If coffee is not your favorite, then we’ll switch to some tasty Hanoi cold beer. In here, you get a chance to not only drink cups of fresh beer but chat with friendly locals.

Delicious street food tour

My mom and I enjoyed the street food tour in Hanoi! Our stomachs were so full after eating the delicious and very cheap Vietnamese food. Our tourguide Trang was very accommodating, helpful, flexible and cheerful throughout the tour. She brought us to hole-in-the-wall places which we wouldn't have found on our own. She accommodated all our requests and was very mindful if we were tired from all the walking. We even talked about politics and history.Haha Thanks, Trang!

Food Tour with Minh This tour was one of the best things I decided to do in Hanoi.

I not only spent the afternoon with Minh trying out different local dishes but as we walked around I had the time to ask her about the history and culture of Vietnam. She was very personal and knowledgeable, and also made me feel comfortable from the start. I was lucky to be paired with her because she was patient when I wanted to practice my Vietnamese, stop to take photos or check out the markets. This was everything and more that I wanted in the tour. Minh was awesome and even helped me discover my new favorite dish Bun Cha.

We had a fantastic introduction to Hanoi street food with our wonderful guide Linh.

She took us to places we would not dare to venture where we sampled wonderful food such as Green Papaya salad, Bun Cha and egg coffee. As a vegetarian I was also catered for! Would highly recommend!

Gigi was an excellent tour guide

showing us the street food Hanoi has to offer, with lots of interesting information, helpful tips, and laughs along the way. The tour went for a bit over three hours and was with a nice small group, which meant we were able to move quickly to each destination. We tried many delicious Vietnamese specialties, including bun cha, egg coffee, steamed rice pancake, sticky rice, banh mi, and dried beef salad. It was great going to places that I would never have stepped into if I was trying street food on my own. Highly recommend this tour, and Gigi was great!

Very enjoyable

Tony (Thành) was our guide, and he made the night memorable. We ate/drank at 6 different establishments, and also saw some interesting non-food related sights in Hanoi. The food was varied and tasty, and the last venue in particular was unique. Cafe Giang is a place I will return to if given the opportunity, to try their egg coffee. Access to the rooftop is via a series of staircases, past the resident chook. All very enjoyable.

Rosie is the best tour guide!

We are 6 friends traveling together throughout Vietnam! We choose this food tour because of the great reviews and luckily hey were right! We had no problems with there being 6 of us together. The tour guides were able to stick together and go from restaurant to restaurant easily. Rosie was our tour guide and she did a great job! We enjoyed conversation with her as we rode around the city. She also gave us great information about the restaurant, dishes, and city facts while on our tour with her! One thing I recommend is take your tour in the evening! We started our tour at 5:45 pm. It was nice and cool air as we rode through the city! We didn’t have to worry about being to hot or wearing sunblock! We are very happy we decided to take our tour in the evening! Also, the food was amazing! I love that we got a variety of foods throughout the time on the tour! There was nothing that I didn’t like! I really enjoyed the sticky rice with ice cream! I highly recommend this tour to anyone!
