Your Itinerary
  • Introduction

  • Day 1: Hanoi Arrival - Night Train To Sapa

Welcome to Hanoi – The capital city of Vietnam. Hanoi – the Capital City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Vietnam. Located on the bank of the Red River, Hanoi has considered a pearl of Southeast Asia. With well-preserved colonial structures and exquisite cuisine, historic temples, and pagodas, Hanoi has become the epitome of Vietnamese culture.

Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport, guide and driver will pick you up and transfer to Hanoi center.

In the afternoon you are free on your own to discover Hanoi until we collect you at a meeting point for the train. Late in the evening our local guide will assist you to get the night train to Sapa.

  • Day 2: Sapa Trekking Tour: Lao Chai – Ta Van – Overnight in Sapa

Arrive at Lao Cai Station at 06.00. Picked-up and transferred to Sapa by car (40km mountain road from Lao Cai).

The mountain landscape of Sapa is magnificent and beautiful all year round. Stop at misty pinewoods, graceful terraced paddy fields and take lovely pictures of charming Hmong or Dzao girls we see on the mountainside.

Sapa town is 38 km away from Lao Cai city and 376km from Hanoi. To get to Sapa, you can choose to take a  night train or car via a new highway. Leaving behind the hectic pace of life in the city, get to Sapa and breath in the fresh air, admire the amazing natural scenery and also see the local life through the lens of the indigenous people here.

Upon your arrival in Sapa, your local guide will take you for the trekking tour to ethnic villages of Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van. The trekking route today is mainly downhill and this is one of the most enjoyable involving descending into a nearby valley inhabited by a variety of ethnic hill tribes.

Ta Van village is about 7 km from Sapa town, in the midst of Muong Hoa valley. I bet you can’t get your eyes off the mountains, lush green rice terraces and the majestic Mount of Fansipan. About 40 households offer homestay services are available (guests stay overnight, eat, enjoy local specialties, watching ethnic performances performed by indigenous people …).

  • Day 3: Sapa Trekking: Cat Cat Village – Back To Hanoi – Overnight in Hanoi

After breakfast at the hotel, go to Sapa market to see local people selling local food, fruit, vegetables, traditional clothes, handicraft brocades, and indigo fabrics… and then walk down to visit Cat Cat village.

Visit Cat Cat village, home to H’Mong ethnic people. They are excellent “tho cam” weavers (kind of brocade fabrics). “Tho cam” of Cat Cat village boasts special quality as it is dyed with natural colors, polished with beeswax and embroidered with unique designs.

Cat Cat silvery jewelry such as necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings are also well preferred for sophisticated techniques. A walk through this old village offers a glimpse into traditional customs and practices of the ethnic Black Hmong. Stop at a beautiful waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric plant that was built by the French during the colonial era in Vietnam.

In the afternoon you will have some hours to explore the pretty town before taking the sleeping bus back to Hanoi. The bus departure at 15h00 and arrive in Hanoi at 21h00.

  • Day 4: Hanoi - Halong Bay - Hanoi

You will see a lot of countryside with rice fields, vegetable farms and beautiful villages on the way. There is the possibility to see Dong Trieu Ceramic village.

12:00 PM: You arrive at Halong tourist harbor, get on your boat, welcomed by the crew and starting to explore the Bay of Halong “descending dragons”. You are going to have about 4 hours cruising along the Bay, short time but you will see the best part of Halong Bay. The captain will sail you around rocky islands and emerald serene water.

1:00 PM: Visit a landing cave named Thien Cung (Heaven Palace), one of the biggest caves in the bay. The cave was founded by a local fisherman and renovated with walking paths and light for tourists but still quite many steps up and down so make sure that you are ready for this challenge.

2:00 PM: After visiting the cave, you get back to your boat for lunch with fresh seafood (for those who can’t eat seafood, there are other kinds of food but please inform your guide before departure).

While having lunch, make sure your camera is on the table with full battery because there are thousands of spectacular islands that you don’t want to miss such as Incense Burner island, Finger island, Duck island, Turtle island, and the Fighting Cocks island that is chosen to be the symbol of Halong Bay.

Sitting on the upper deck, you can enjoy the breath – taking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear water of the Bay.
