Tran Quoc Pagoda was formerly the center of Buddhism in Thang Long (Hanoi old name). Tran Quoc Pagoda now becomes an attractive spiritual destination of the capital. This pagoda is located on an island on the surface of West Lake. Being an ancient temple built long ago, Tran Quoc Pagoda has undergone a lot of restoration. The appearance and architecture of the temple is now the result of a major restoration in 1815. The total area of the pagoda is over 3000 square meters.

Tran Quoc Pagoda is mainly known for its beautiful scenery, particularly when viewed at sunset. Standing at Thanh Nien Road, one can see the tower of the pagoda rising above the lake’s surface.
