Hoan Kiem Lake: Hoan Kiem Lake, or “Lake of the Returned Sword”, is named following the tale of King Le Loi returned his Sword to Golden Turtle God who help him protect the country by invaders. After winning the invaders, King Le Loi returned his sword to Golden Turtle God in Hoan Kiem Lake. Nowadays, large soft-shell turtles have been sighted in the lake many times and they’re a spiritual icon of the Hanoians. Located in the center of the lake there is Turtle Tower. Around the lake, there’re many green trees and colorful flowers. You can also see many locals come here to hangout, play music, paint, play chess together and so on.
Ngoc Son Temple (No.8 in the map): Ngoc Son Temple is located on the surface of Hoan Kiem Lake. Here, you can learn more about the history and culture that related to the tale of Hoan Kiem Lake. The wooden red-painted The Huc Bridge (or Morning Sunlight) is one of the most beautiful parts of Ngoc Son Temple.
