Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Sung Sot Cave – Titop Island

From Hanoi, I transferred to Halong City early in the morning.I embarked on the cruise at noon.

There was a mandatary session about safety procedures for passengers before check-in time. Next, you can get yourself familiar with the cruise where you will spend the night.

Also, the view along the way is just amazing. I grabbed a moment to observe so that there would be no regret about my Halong Bay 2 days.

You will then have lunch. Fresh seafood is cooked into different delicious dishes.

The meal is served on board, so you can enjoy the amazing sight of Halong at the same time.

Lovely lunch on board in Halong Bay

Note: I saw that some other passengers were having a vegetarian meal. I guess you can make special requests in advance with the cruise operator.

Sung Sot Cave

After lunch, you will set sail for Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Grotto). Sung Sot Cave is in the heart of the World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay.

Astonishing interior of Surprise Cave

When I first came to Sung Sot Cave, I found it rather small. Yet after crossing a narrow passage, I was wowed with how large and impressive the cave was.Its vast expanse can accommodate thousands of people.

The exotic beauty of limestone stalagmites formed over thousands of years will certainly amaze you!

You may have a feeling of going on a fantasy-like journey.

Titop Island

Titop Island as an important part of Halong 2 days 1 night

Then, I went on to visitTitop Island.

You can choose to sunbathe on the beach.

Otherwise, I suggest rock climbingfor those with an adventurous spirit. You will have a panoramic view of Halong Bay from Titop peak.

Cooking class

I was delighted to attend a cooking class during my Halong Bay 2 days 1 night.

Cooking class on the cruise

You will be given a demonstration at first. Then, it is time to make a dish on your own!

Evening on cruise

The dinner is served in the restaurant.

Next, you can enjoy the evening in your own way. The simplest way is just relaxing on the board.

Sunset at the bay

You may have a leisure time with a drink or have a chat with your companions or other passengers. The bar offers a wide range of choices.

Otherwise, you may spend your night watching movies. I went with my family, and we chose to watch an old movie to remind ourselves of many treasured memories.

Day 2: Luon Cave – Halong Bay – Hanoi

Tai Chi session

It is a great idea to start your day by doing Tai Chi exercises. This traditional martial art no doubt helps you to stay healthy even during a holiday!

Passengers doing Tai Chi exercises on board

When waking up early in the morning, you will have the chance to observe the amazing sunrise on the bay. This unforgettable scenery will be a reward for your Halong Bay 1 night.

A light breakfast is served in the restaurant.

Have a proper meal and summon up enough energy for the rest your trip!

Luon Cave

Luon Cave has the front facing Tortoise Islet.Lying to the right of the cave is Sky Gate (Cong Troi), which is believed to be the interference of Heaven and Earth.

Luon Cave at Halong Bay

You will have a guided tour through Luon Cave on a boat rowed by a local boatman.

It was my all-time favourite part of the trip to sit on the bamboo boat. You can also watchthe natural sceneryalong the way at the same time.

Returning to Hanoi

After discovering Luon Cave, you will get back to have lunch on board.

It is now the check-out time to say goodbye to Halong 2 days 1 night.

Other option for Halong Bay 2 days 1 night

There are many nice routes to discover Halong Bay. Another option is:

  • Day 1: Hanoi – Bai Tu Long Bay – VungVieng Fishing Village
  • Day 2: ThienCanh Son Cave – Bai Tu Long Bay – Hanoi

However, Bai Tu Long Bay is rather far from Halong. It will not be suitable to follow this route with a limited amount of time.

Each route is suitable for specific type of tourists, so you may need expert advice to choose one meeting your requirement. Feel free to contact AZ Local Trip for free itinerary planning.

I hope that my recommended Halong 2 days 1 night itinerary will somehow assist you with your trip.Halong Bay is just amazing, and it will be worth your time considering a good schedule!
