The first option covers Hanoi, Halong Bay, Sapa. But if you are grouped with elders and kids, this itinerary will be not highly recommended.

As to explore Sapa, you have to walk or trek a lot down the roads and villages and this might be difficult for kids and elders.

It also takes a lot of time to go to Sapa (by train or shuttle bus) so this itinerary is a little bit rush.

Young people and adventurous souls might be best suitable for this trip!
